Work Training

Diversified experience and training will be provided:

  1. Under the supervision of a qualified journeyperson or instructor.
  2. To train and develop the apprentice into a safe skilled worker.
  3. To train the apprentice in all the required work processes.
  4. To train the apprentice in the safe use of new equipment, materials, and processes as they come into use in the occupation.

Site/Project Preparation and Maintenance (540 - 720 Hours)
bulletClearing, bucking and falling. Transportation, dismantling and stockpiling of scaffolding and work platforms.
bulletGrading and compaction.
bulletLayout and staking protocols.
bulletRigging and signaling for work traditionally performed by construction craft laborers.
bulletSite preparation, clean up and security.

Tools, Equipment and Materials (540 - 720 Hours)
bulletTools, equipment and material recognition and preparation.
bulletHand, electric, gas, pneumatic and power tool/equipment use and maintenance.
bulletTool, equipment and material storage and security.

Safety (360 - 450 Hours)
bulletConfined space Safety.
bulletFlagging, signaling and traffic safety awareness.
bulletHazard material recognition.
bulletTrenching and site excavation safety.

Specific Skills (2,160 - 2,700 Hours)

Environmental Remediation (720 -  900 Hours)
